FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: JUNE 16, 2015

Snap 180 Media LLC Receives FAA Drone Waiver
FAA Section 333 Waiver #11683

Oshkosh, WI, June 16, 2015 – Snap 180 Media LLC announced today that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted an exemption that will allow the company to conduct commercial operation of its DJI Inspire1 drone in the U.S. The exemption was granted pursuant to Section 333 of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, which authorizes the FAA to grant exemptions from FAA rules limiting commercial operation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) pending the adoption of permanent rules. Section 333 exemptions are intended to "provide a pathway for civil operators who desire safe and legal entry"1 into the U.S. National Airspace System (NAS).

Snap 180 Media LLC will operate drones targeted at commercial video productions, surveying, agriculture, construction, and environmental industries. The DJI Inspire 1 drone can capture still photos and high-resolution video up to 4K. Chris Hibben, Owner of Snap 180 Media, has over 150 flight with the drone and lately has tested the drone during his Air Force Reserve annual training at the Marine proving grounds Twenty-Nine Palms (video will be provided). There he produced never before seen moving video of tanks, HUMVEEs, and Amphibious Assault Vehicles.

"We are pleased to be among the first companies in the U.S. and the first in Wisconsin to receive an exemption from the FAA authorizing commercial operation of UAS," said Chris Hibben, owner of Snap 180 Media LLC. "This decision reflects Snap 180’s efforts to responsibly operate its UAS business in the U.S. while the FAA addresses air safety issues in opening the NAS for commercial UAS operations on a broader scale. Snap 180 Media will continue its efforts to support the FAA's decision-making process and to provide opportunities for our customers to acquire video and still photography safely using the our Unmanned Aerial Systems.”

"In the mapping market, the FAA exemption moves Snap 180 Media one step further with the opportunity to provide a solution for safe and legal UAS operations that can generate topographic maps and models for land leveling and drainage applications. As a result, Snap 180 Media will be a powerful data collection company that can aid companies using aerial imagery for their business."
